Former ANCYL member found guilty of murder

Former African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) leader, Patrick Wisani, has been found guilty of murdering his girlfriend Nosipho Mandleleni. Wisani has also been found guilty of assault and intimidation.

EWN reporter Matshepo Chiloane has the latest details from court today. She reports that Judge Mohamed Ismail finally finished hearing all the statements made by both prosecution and defence.

He broke down some inconsistencies that were made by both defence and state witnesses, but said despite inconsistencies by some state witnesses, it still shows that the testimonies brought by the State were more convincing.

Judge Ismail said there was enough evidence to prove Wisani beat his girlfriend to death with a sjambok and a broom.

The judge advised Patrick Wisani that he should seek legal advice before sentencing begins, and Wisani said he will take the advice....but indicated he wants the matter to be settled as soon as possible.
