ANC 101 determined to get ANC back to its values

22 November 2016 8:05 AM
The ANC 101 met with National Working Committee members to discuss ways to get the organisation back to what it used to be.

The ANC's National Working Committee members met with party veterans on Monday and raised concerns about the state of the ANC.

Also on the agenda were current developments in the country including the state of capture report, the Nkandla Constitutional judgment and others issues involving President Jacob Zuma.

ANC stalwart, Mavuso Msimang says the intention of ANC's 101 was to say to the leadership of the ANC that the crisis that has resulted from poor leadership is disintegrating the organisation and there is a need for stake holders to meet and discuss how to get the ANC back to its values.

It is still early days to say we expect a positive outcome.

Mavuso Msimang, ANC stalwart

The discussion yesterday was extremely difficult... you are talking to people who are legitimately elected and you saying to them the task that you've haven't been carrying out effectively is being discussed...

Mavuso Msimang, ANC stalwart

The public has shown in the recent elections that people are really getting tired of partnering with the ANC.

Msimang says if they could get the ANC back to its values, he believes they still have a chance of convincing people the organisation of Mandela and Tambo still has a role to play in the new South Africa.
