Faf du Plessis found guilty of ball tampering

Proteas captain Faf du Plessis has been found guilty of ball tampering.

He will have to waiver 100% of his match fee as a penalty, however he will be allowed to play in the third Test on Thursday.

The verdict was handed down to the Proteas captain during a hearing in Adelaide, Australia this morning.

The cricketer has been the subject of much media attention, and was harassed by a reporter on Monday at Adelaide Airport.

Du Plessis was charged after TV footage appeared to show him applying an artificial substance to the ball in the second Test.

He plead not guilty, after the charge was laid by (International Cricket Council) ICC chief David Richardson.
