Vaal dam 5% increase, but still not enough

The Department of Water Sanitation says the Vaal Dam levels have risen 5% to 31%, from 26% last week.

Dam levels in all provinces except the Cape Province have seen increases in dam levels.

The Vaal Dam is now being supplied by Sterkfontein Dam reserves after levels became critically low.

If we have better rains than what we have right now, we might shut down that operation earlier [before December].

When we look at the national average we realise that there is a slight increase of about point six percent to 49.3 week on week. But we are still way below our average last year which was about 62.6%.
