Severe thunderstorms, rain, floods expected for Gauteng

Gauteng residents should expect severe thunderstorms with 60% chance of showers, which could lead to localised flooding.

SA Weather Service forecaster Victoria Nurse says people must be prepared for these weather conditions as the day progresses.

If we do get a severe a thunderstorm, you can see heavy downfalls that have been previously seen.

Johannesburg Emergency Services' Robert Mulaudzi says the City is on high alert and will be monitoring high risk areas to ensure that they respond immediately should there be any problems.

We want to urge motorists and residents to take precautionary measure while they drive.
