Today is the deadline for the National Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams to explain to President Jacob Zuma why he shouldn't be suspended.
This related to a pending inquiry over his handling of charges against Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.
EWN reporter Mandy Wiener says Abrahams and other two advocates Torie Pretorius and Sibongile Mzinyathi have finalised their submissions to the President.
Abrahams, Mzinyathi and Prestorius were handling the prosecution of Gordhan and two former Sars officials Oupa Magashula and Ivan Pillay in relation to Pillay's early retirement at Sars.
He then later dropped the fraud charges saying there was no criminal intention by Gordhan to approve the early retirement of Pillay in December 2010.
