Matric pupils are leaving behind a legacy at their high schools by donating their shoes to less fortunate learners.
As they bid farewell after completing their final exams, many pupils at Cape Town's Fish Hoek High School and Johannesburg's Randfontein High School have donated their school shoes.
Fish Hoek High has been practicing the tradition for eight years and the class of 2016 has handed over at least 167 pairs of shoes - more than any other previous year.
At the same time, pupils at Randfontein High are also paying if forward - with the extra help of alumni.
In support of the shoe drive, former RHS matriculants have decided to try match the number of old shoes donated with a brand new pair.
These matric pupils are definitely leaving big shoes to fill!
