CapeTalk listeners lamented the City's turnaround time to fix reported leaks saying it simply wasn't good enough.
Last month the city implemented level 3 water restrictions which prohibits residents from using sprinklers and hosepipes to water their lawns.
While everyone is trying hard to save water, the city is taking too long to respond to water leaks.
Cllr Ernest Sonneburg, Mayco Member for Utility services says since the implementations of water restrictions, call volumes for reporting water leaks have increased by 113%.
He says people should report if the turn around time for reported incidents is taking too long and he is happy to investigate the issues.
Sonneburg says it is more concerning that water consumption has also increased from an average of 854 million litres per day to 905 million litres.
