Most schools in the province will close their doors on Wednesday and pupils are expected to come home with their final report cards.
But some parents are concerned that they might not receive a report on their child's academic progress, due to outstanding fee payments.
Western Cape Education MEC Debbie Schafer says that schools are not allowed to withhold reports over unpaid fees.
Despite this, a school in Salt River has been reported for this very practice this week.
Schools are not allowed to do that. They are told every year, but they continue to do it sometimes.— Debbie Schafer, Western Cape Education MEC
Parents with similar complaints are urged to contact the Western Cape Education Deprtment's (WCED) district office to report the school in question.
Schafer says that parents who can afford to pay should do so. Those who cannot, should apply for fee exemptions.
