Reports this morning that Zimbabe is going to allow citizens to us the rand as a currency through a private cellphone service.
Ryan Truscott, EWN correspondent in Zimbabwe, explains more to Stephen Grootes on The Midday Report.
It is a service offered by mobile phone company Econet. Truscott says this service will be available to users of Econet's electronic mobile phone wallet and there are believed to be 5 million users.
These users will be able to now receive rand payments in those mobile phone wallets in Zimbabwe.
