Star Wars stands to make a killing from new release

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first of three anthology series from the Star Wars franchise, is due to be released world wide on December 16.

Tymon Smith, Entertainment writer at Times Live, says the franchise would benefit in making this spin off from the previous movies.

The last movie made just under a billion dollars, says Smith, and worldwide the total rose to $1.513 billion.

It is a case of Disney making as much as they can out of Lucas films franchise which they bought from George Lucas a few years ago and they scheduled a Star Wars movie a year until 2019.

Smith says Star Wars is not as big as people may think. In fact the biggest franchise is Marvel Comics Universe, followed by James Bond, Harry Potter and then Star Wars.
