Evacuation in Aleppo finally begins

Paula Slier, Middle East Correspondent, says an evacuation of civilians from the City of Aleppo in Syria is underway by Red Cross.

On Wednesday a cease fire operation collapsed and on Thursday morning ambulances that were trying to evacuate wounded civilians were shot at.

According to Slier, Red Cross managed to free 200 wounded people. A fleet of ambulances and about 20 buses were seen heading into eastern areas as part of the evacuation.

After all the delays it is finally happening, we've been witnessing this evacuation from the east of Aleppo.

Paula Slier, Middle East Correspondent

Slier says if government manages to win over the east side of Aleppo it could mean that the fighting will finally subside.
