Children not writing to Santa like they used to

The number of letters sent to Santa has decreased compared with previous years.

Martie Gilchrist, SA Post Office spokeswoman says this year they received over 500 letters to Santa which were sorted on Sunday in Cape Town.

She says in previous years 2 000 letters.

So what exactly does the post office do with these letters?

We send them to Santa every night to the North-pole. We really can't disappoint the kids.

Martie Gilchrist, Post Office spokeswoman

Parents are urged to encourage their children to write to Santa.

Children's wishes are referred to big corporates to give them an idea of what toys and games children look forward to receiving.
