Kabila refuses to relinquish power, 20 people dead

20 people have been reported dead in violent protests following Joseph Kabila's refusal to relinquish power in the DRC.

Kabila's mandate expired overnight but he says an election will not be held until 2018, according to Africa Correspondent, JJ Cornish.

The people are saying this is simply a power grab, he has to go. He had enough time to hold elections before his mandate expired and he has now got to go.
