Four brazen robberies in one day causes alarm for shoppers

Three separate heists targeting malls and shops were executed across the Western Cape on Wednesday.

According to Eye Witness reporter Xolani Koyana, police confirmed four incidents, an attempted robbery at the Vangate Mall, a cash-in-transit security guard robbed at the N1 City Mall in Goodwood, a robbery at a bakery in Athlone and another robbery at a jewellery store at Kenilworth centre.

There were messages going around on social media of other malls being robbed but the police have confirmed it was a hoax.

There was only one reported armed robbery at N1 City mall and an attempt at Vangate. The other ones police described them as hoax.
