Botswana government has announced a complete ban on elephant-back rides in the country from the end of this month.
Local animal rights groups Justice for Animals is calling on South African government would do the same.
The organisation's Stephen Smit explains that there is documented evidence showing the unacceptable measures that are used to train these animals.
