The Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education Training (Umalusi) is satisfied that the matric results for the class of 2016 is "legitimate and correct."
EWN reporter Pelane Phakgadi said this stamp of approval was given by Umalusi at a media briefing on Thursday.
Over 800 000 candidates, including independent candidates, sat for the exams. Umalusi is satisfied with the markers and is satisfied that everything went well.— Pelane Phakgadi, EWN reporter
Phakgadi gave an update on Giyani in Limpopo where the Maths paper 2 was leaked.
Results will be withheld until the investigation into the leaked paper is concluded. These hearings are being prioritised.— Pelane Phakgadi, EWN reporter
