About 500 000 kiloliters wasted water from massive Joburg burst pipe

Rand Water is still investigating the cause of a massive pipe burst in Bassonia in the south of Johannesburg.

Ward councillor Sarah Wissler told EWN that about 500 000 kiloliters of water came through from the pipe, and flooded houses and cars.

They are still doing a damage assessment and mop-up operations at the moment. We know that insurance is going to help some of the residents and some of them have had to move out to nearest guest houses.
