What is the process of having a product recalled?

Over 30 incidents of Ford Kuga's bursting into flame have been reported, but there has yet to be an official recall of the vehicle.

Simon Colman, Head of Commercial Solutions at SHA Specialist Underwriters, says the point in which something is recalled relies on an investigation done by the supplier,

Suppliers are obliged to have proper means of recording consumer complaints.

Colman was responding to a topic discussed on Wednesday about the Ford Kuga that's currently under investigation.

Private forensic consultant, Dr David Klatzow described Ford's approach on the matter as "strange".
