ANCWL says internal and external forces at SAA block transformation

African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) is calling for a judicial commission of inquiry to investigate allegations of corruption and lack of transformation at South African Airways (SAA).

The Women's League says there are internal and external forces trying to block transformation at the state-owned entity.

According to EWN reporter, Ziyanda Ngcobo, ANCWL has been doing research on how to implement radical economic transformation.

So it says it started with Sate Owned Entities, and found that there is a lot of lack of transformation when it comes to procurement and employment equity at SAA, but there are other parastatals in the spotlight.

SAA says it is still reviewing the statement internally. Spokesperson says while they don't condone corruption and slow transformation, they note that some of the claims are devoid of context while others are factually incorrect if not ignorant
