Festive season travellers stats up, says Home Affairs DG

Home Affairs Director-General Mkuseli Apleni says there's been a travelling increase of about 200 000 people through South Africa's ports of entry over the festive season.

The period under review started on 9 December and ended on 14 January and saw more travellers move through the country by air (through OR International Tambo Airport), he explains.

Movements recorded at ports of entry nationally amounted to a total of 5.5 million travellers, a a nearly 4% increase.
