Born a US citizen, Mobius was also entitled to German citizenship by descent.

He renounced his US citizenship and is now a German citizen.

Mobius has been a key figure in developing international policy for emerging markets.

He frequently appears on financial television shows on networks including Bloomberg, CNBC, MSNBC and CNN.

Mobius is sometimes referred to as the "Pied Piper of emerging markets".

A comic book on the life of Mobius (Mark Mobius — An Illustrated Biography of the Father of Emerging Markets Funds) was published in 2007.

It has, so far, been translated into English, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Thai and Japanese.

There has to be a change in the parastatals. South Africa has to privatise them so they can become more responsible, transparent and efficient.

We’d like to put more into South Africa, but it depends on what’ll happen politically.

I came to Cape Town on the Blue Train. I definitely have to hit the beach in Clifton!
