NSFAS urges students who have applied for funding not to panic

Students who have applied for NSFAS funding have been concerned that they haven't received any feedback.

NSFAS spokesperson, Kagisho Mamabalo, says they've been communicating with applicants that went through the evaluation process.

We cant rank or make funding decisions without matric results, that cohort is the one that is prioritised.

Kagisho Mamabolo, NSFAS spokesperson

We are aligning this with the universities that are closing registrations much earlier.

Kagisho Mamabolo, NSFAS spokesperson

Our communication to the students is not as rapid as it should be because we rely heavily on completed applications.

Kagisho Mamabolo, NSFAS spokesperson

Mamabolo says all those that have applied for funding will get a feedback before registrations closes via sms.
