Ford Kuga gains popularity in online searches

Head of corporate affairs at Santam, Donald Kau says Ford Kuga's will be insured under the condition that they are inspected and declared safe.

The motor company has since asked owners of the Ford Kuga to bring them in for inspection and repair. Ford recalled specific models of the vehicle after many caught fire.

The recall does present a complication but we haven't said we wouldn't insure the vehicles, it is really a matter of making sure that the cars are inspected and cover should be available to you.

George Mienie, CEO of Auto Trader says there's been a lot of online activity around the Ford Kuga recently. He says Google has reported a 300% increase in search for a Kuga online.

It seems people are hoping to buy these cars at a much reduced price and hopefully fix them.

However, Mienie says there hasn't been any shift in a market price for a Kuga even after recent reports.
