Why Julius Malema says Trump presidency is a threat to South Africa

The leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, held a press conference in Braamfontein on Monday, briefing members of the media about the meeting a held by its top leaders over the weekend.

EWN reporter, Masa Kekana, says Malema focused more on international trends and what's going on abroad with regards to Donald Trump as the new American President.

He says a Trump's presidency poses a threat to South Africa.

He says he is afraid that these sorts of trends will move to South Africa and Europe and affect our import and export industry.

With regards to EFF, Malema spoke about councillors who are being investigated for maintaining another full-time job while serving as councillors, saying EFF needs people who are committed and available 24/7.
