Senior Wits professor investigated for sexual harassment

Wits University's has appointed an independent investigator to probe a senior professor at the institution after three women laid a sexual harassment complaint with the institutions Gender Equity Office.

According to EWN, the professor is in a position of influence and authority at Wits.

Two of the women are lecturers and one works as an office administrator.

They independently laid these complaints. They never knew about each other, until they were notified by the Gender Equity Office.

Women claim that the professor would comment on how they dress and invite them to dinners after hours.

One of the complainants claims the professor pushed her against a wall and forcibly kissed her.

The university has not commented on the investigation.
