Human Settlements MEC on a mission to provide affordable housing in WC

Western Cape Human Settlements MEC, Bonginkosi Madikizela, says something needs to be done to bring the high prices of property in the Western Cape down.

Madikizela says he has been in talks with different municipalities in the Western Cape about this issue.

He says he is looking out for poor people who would like to own houses but can't afford them saying even before "you put the spade on the ground the house is not affordable".

Yes we have a responsibility and obligation to provide housing to people who are earning below R3 000 but we cannot ignore people who are earning R4 000 up to R15 000.

Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela, Western Cape Human Settlements MEC
