Cape Town car manufacturer builds GT40 look-alikes

A Cape Town company is using the original mould of the GT40 to create kit car look a likes. Selling between $150 000 and $200 000 each, it is a precise and focused machine with a lot of attention to detail.

The CEO of Cape Advanced Vehicles, Jordi Reddy says the company has remade a couple of the moulds over the years, but the quintessential GT40-ness is still very much there.

He says they are working with their European partners to expand.

Here in Cape Town we have a strong boat-building heritage and the GT40, being a composite-bodied car... a lot of those skills translate.

Jordi Reddy, CEO Cape Advanced Vehicles
