Leaked classified report finds Phiyega 'unfit for office'

Parliament is now in possession of the Claassen Board of Inquiry Report into suspended national police commissioner Riah Phiyega’s fitness to hold office.

The Claassen Board of Inquiry report is classified and so the contents are not made public.

EWN reporter Gia Niccolaides says, however, there have been a number of leaks about certain contents of the report.

Some leaks of this particular report claim that the Claassen Board of Inquiry found that Phiyega was not fit to hold office.

Some of the things they found are that she was not a satisfactory witness in all respects, that she was ambivalent and contradictory.

According to Niccolaides, Phiyega's lawyers have indicated that they will approach the courts to challenge these findings.

The report is now in the hands of President Jacob Zuma and Parliament's Portfolio Committee.

The Democratic Alliance has promised to reveal more damning reports on the current acting police commissioner Kgomotso Phahlane following a series of claims on how he was supplied with luxury vehicles.
