It was the clash of the F1 titans when veteran commentator Murray Walker caught up with Sport Talk's Jean Smyth and our own auto racing vet, Jody Scheckter on what he's up to these days:
I'm doing fine - not nearly as busy as I used to be, but still doing a column for F1 Racing magazine, I've finished doing 10 great one-hour programs on great F1 races of the past for BBC television which is going to go out with the Bahrain Grand Prix (from April 17th-19th, 2015). So I just keep going and doing things.
So what was Walker's best F1 race that he's commented in his illustrious career?
One of the best was the Monaco Grand Prix in 1990...I think it was 1992, the year Mansell and Senna were fighting and Mansell had won the first five races. He'd never won at Monaco and he had a good lead, he thought he had a puncture. He came into the pits, changed all four tyres, but he hadn't got a puncture at all, he'd just had a loose wheel and he would have gone out before Senna came through but he didn't and Senna passed him and Mansell with all new rubber caught him after a few laps and the last few laps of the race were Mansell trying to get past Senna, but the last few laps in Monaco are virtually impossible, but it was tremendously exciting!
