Nicola Pienaar's boyfriend facing murder, fraud and theft charges

Nicola Pienaar, 28, was last seen alive on January 5 this year.

It was initially believed she had gone on a trip with her boyfriend Jacobus Oosthuizen.

EWN's Lauren Isaacs, who has been covering the story, says her mother insisted her daughter would not have gone on a trip without informing her.

Her mother became suspicious after three weeks and reported her missing.

Oosthuizen was found in possession of Nicola's car and was arrested in Port Elizabeth last week on charges of motor vehicle theft.

Lauren Isaacs, EWN reportere's

He apparently told police he had left Pienaar in Oudtshoorn on January 7 after having a fight, reports Isaacs.

He appeared in court last Friday and the case was transferred to the Paarl Magistrates Court. On Sunday night the 32-year-old led detectives to a secluded area of the backyard of his home in Paarl where Pienaar's body was found under a pile of rubble.

The investigation is still underway and Oosthuizen will appear in court on February 2 facing charges of murder, fraud and vehicle theft.
