Do powerful individuals at SANAC want to change leadership for their own gain?

According to article on the Daily Maverick, the South African National AIDS Council (Sanac) board gave current CEO, Fareed Abdullah, two weeks notice that his contract would not be renewed at the end of January.

Managing editor at Health-e News Service, Kerry Cullinan, says nobody wanted to give explanations on why Abdullah's contract was ending while he is doing a good job.

Cullinan says it is alleged that Sanac deputy chairperson, Mmapaseka Steve Letsike, has clashed with Abdullah and refused to sign the declaration of interests form.

She explains that Letsike has four companies and NGO doing business in the health sector and have pitched business to the Department of Health.

Letsike dismissed these reports saying Abdullah's contract with Sanac was legally coming to an end on the 31st of January 2017.

When one says it happened within two weeks is not factual.
