CEO Grain SA, Jannie De Villiers, says farmers can use chemical spray to kill the armyworm while waiting for a solution from government.

De Villiers says maize and sweetcorn in Limpopo have been heavily affected by the fall armyworm.

Agriculture Department announced that the armyworm has been detected for the first time in South Africa.

Minister Senzeni Zokwana said government is registering pesticide to fight this pest that causes extensive crop damage.
