Sick of repeats? Want to create your own bouquet? Watch this space, says DSTV…

Last year, MultiChoice unveiled the following plan to combat the perception that there are too many repeats on DSTV:

  • Reduce the number of movie channels.

  • More fresh content on M-Net movie channels.

  • Improve movie variety.

  • Reduce series channels.

  • More fresh content on M-Net Series.

  • A new, 30-minute show featuring roundups of what to check out in the coming week, tips for the Explora and troubleshooting common issues.

  • Add more fresh first-run content on lower-tier channels.

  • Review content stacking with all series, documentary and lifestyle channels.

  • New content over weekends for documentary and lifestyle channels.

  • Fewer airings of certain old titles within channels.

CapeTalk’s John Maytham interviewed MultiChoice Head of Content Aletta Alberts.
