Defence and Military Veterans secretary, Dr Sam Makhudu Gulube, says Parliament was not clear on the reasons behind the deployment of 441 South African National Defence Force (SANDF) soldiers to Parliament during the State of the Nation Address (Sona).
Gulube says SANDF members will be on standby in case South African Police Service (SAPS) need support.
He says the increase in the number of soldiers deployed is related to security threats.
