The death toll in the Esidimeni tragedy has risen to more than 100.

Earlier this month, the death toll stood at 94, however, more families are stepping forward with information about relatives who died.

Health Ombudsman Malegapuru Makgoba says that, from the outset of his investigation, he realised that 94 would not be the final death count.

Earlier this month Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu resigned just before the report was released.
