Motsoeneng feels 'prejudiced' for not having his say at SABC inquiry

Lawyers of former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng say their client felt 'prejudiced' in not being afforded the opportunity to testify during the SABC inquiry.

Motsoeneng's lawyer wrote a letter to the parliamentary committee probing the SABC board’s fitness to hold office, which resumed its work in Parliament on Tuesday.

The ad hoc committee has been reviewing 18 responses received for its interim report and says the SABC was invited to give testimony but did not come forward.

The committee has resolved to reply to the lawyer's letter and explain that they do not share the view that Motsoeneng faced bias.

The committee received responses from former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng and Communications Minister Faith Muthambi.

The SABC and Muthambi's submission have both been marked as confidential, but Parliament's legal advisor says the confidentiality stamps have no standing in the public inquiry.
