Bathabile Dlamini to go to ConCourt with new CPS/Sassa contract

Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini told Parliament that she plans to approach the Constitutional Court with a proposal and new contract on March 31.

The contract will be between the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) and Cash Paymaster Services (CPS).

Sassa will apply for the extension of its contract with CPS in order to pay social grants beneficiaries on April 1 after it failed to get new service provider.

In 2014 the ConCourt declared the contract invalid.
