Madikizela plans to forge unity within the DA in the Western Cape

MEC of Human Settlements in the Western Cape, Bonginkosi Madikizela was elected an interim leader of the Democratic Alliance in the Western Cape on Saturday at Worcester.

Madikizela will act in a position which previously belonged to Mayor Patricia de Lille who resigned from the post on January 30.

He spoke to CapeTalk's Africa Melane about his new role and plans for the western Cape.

The first thing I have to do is to take care of our family, our voters, because there is a tendency of ignoring the voters.

The second thing is that we should forge unity within the party... we have to be a party that embraces diversity.

Madikizela says in provinces where the party is governing, it should govern well, building-up to 2019 elections.
