Elkanah House pupils go green with daily grey-water gardening campaign

Pupils at Elkanah House's Pre and Junior Primary in Blouberg are doing their part to save water in Cape Town.

Each learner is asked to bring 2 litres of grey water each day to water the school lawns, gardens and play areas.

Areas of the field have been split between different grades and the grade with the greenest patch will win a prize.

Elkanah's marketing manager Sarah Jacobs says the project is a part of a broader water-wise campaign across the school campuses.

Elkanah House has always positioned ourselves as a sustainable tool, from our energy efficient buildings to our water-wise gardens.

We're encouraging our pupils from the youngest age, all the way to Grade 12 to be conscious of our water crisis and teach them practical ways to help conserve water.
