Process underway to lift Gauteng water restrictions - gov

The Water and Sanitation Department has begun the process required to lift water restrictions in Gauteng, after the Vaal Dam reached full capacity on Monday.

The department will put out a gazette on Friday which will allow municipalities to lift water restrictions in their areas of jurisdiction, explains spokesperson Sputnik Ratau.

We have started the process of looking at lifting the water restrictions in Gauteng.

Ratau says residents must always be water-wise and use water sparingly.
