The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) has appointed Lindikhaye Zide to replace axed acting CEO Collins Letsoalo.

Letsoalo was dismissed with immediate effect this week following reports that Prasa approved a R5.9 million salary that he claims he was entitled to.

He went on record on Wednesday saying that he is still the acting CEO, as far as he's concerned because he hasn't been fired or received any letter.

He also said he believes the Prasa board cannot fire him and that it's the Transport Department that will have to fire him and revoke his secondment.
