Community members have recovered the body of a 14-year-old girl who was swept by flash floods in Soweto.
It's understood that the girl attended Forte Secondary School in Dobsonville, and Principal Leonard Mudabi says her body was found on Friday after the official search was called off by police.

According to Mudabi, search and rescue operations were halted on Thursday due to heavy rains saw several parts of Gauteng.
He says the girl's bereaved parents are devastated by the news and the family is waiting on officials to dig up her body from underneath rubble.
The girl is believed to have fallen inside a storm drain while walking home from school.
Mudabi describes the learner as a diligent pupil who had a reputation for good behaviour and hard work.
