Mark Barnes, CEO of Sapo, took to the airwaves on Tuesday morning with Kieno Kammies, disputing previous comments made yesterday by Serge Belamant, CEO of Cash Payment Solutions on Talk Radio 702's breakfast show with Xolani Gwala. Belamant made claims that the South African Post Office is misleading the public with it's statement that it has the required capacity to take over the Sassa payments.
Mark Barnes refuted the statements made by Belamant.
We have no desire or purpose to get into a mudslinging match with Serge Belamant or CPS.— Mark Barnes, CEO of SAPO
Mark Barnes added that Sapo has tabled an implementation plan for consideration by Sassa.
I'm not quite sure what CPS' function is in evaluating what the post office can do... it's a Sassa mandate.— Mark Barnes, CEO of Sapo
