Public urged to come forward with info #ORTamboRobbery

Kalyani Pillay, Chief Executive Officer of South African Banking Risk and Information Centre says the recurring cash-in-transit heists are unacceptable.

During a media briefing in Tshwane on Thursday, acting National Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Khomotso Phahlane confirmed the incident as a security breach at the airport.

According to reports, robbers escaped from OR Tambo International airport with millions worth of foreign currency on Tuesday afternoon.

It is totally unacceptable the fact that they were able to get away.

Kalyani Pillay, Chief Executive Officer of South African Banking Risk and Information Centre

Pillay says they are calling for the arrest of the key perpetrators and urging members of the public to help the police with information that will lead to the arrest of those responsible.
