ANC's proposed electoral college an admission to vetting problems - analyst
The ANC has launched its policy discussion documents for its conference in June.
The party held a briefing on Sunday, with its chairpersons of the various National Executive Committee (NEC) sub committees.
Political analyst Karima Brown was at the press briefing and says the most notable proposal is the call for a "revolutionary" electoral college.
The ANC has proposed that an electoral college be formed to screen candidates in an attempt to improve its flawed electoral process, Brown explains.
She says that, in doing this, the ruling party has conceded to struggling with its own discussion about how to regularise competition for ANC leadership.
It's the first time that the party is admitting that the current way of electing leaders is in fact a problem.Karima Brown, Political Analyst and Talk At Nine Presenter
