The historic Pig and Whistle still a trusted brand

Enter your business in the Nedbank Business Accelerator Campaign with CapeTalk today.

Established 1832, The Historic Pig and Whistle is the oldest pub in the country.

Located just a few kilometers from Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape, the restaurant is popular among visitors and locals.

Owner Gavin Cam, says they get a great deal of traffic from the university community nearby and have made arrangements to ferry them more easily to the pub.

Business growth specialist, Pavlo Phitidis says the pub has the advantage of being the trusted brand by locals because it's been there for such a long time.

He suggests the owner work more on attracting travelers by offering them exciting freebees to entice them to come back again.

He's got the name, he's got the brand and marketing expertise and could create a nice regular, month to month cash flow be it season or out of season.
