Icasa asked to make data services more competitive

The Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) issued a statement that says the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has done little to look at mobile data rates.

Duncan McLeod, TechCentral's Editor says competition in the mobile broad brand space does exist however the prices are not low enough.

Cell C and Telkom are more aggressive on prices.

Duncan admits that operators tend to make their tariffs complex which is a huge inhibiting factor in understanding competitive offerings.

I think the smaller operators are driving change in the market and hopefully the bigger guys will respond with better price solutions.
