Don't be weight conscious, be health conscious, says popular Aussie nutrionist

Diets can leave many women disconnected to their bodies, relates Australian nutritionist and blogger Jessica Sepel.

After overcoming years of struggle in my relationship with food, Sepel has her story and journey with the world.

The Sydney-based nutritionist is in the country to help promote her new recipe book called Living the Healthy Life.

She explains that the number on the scale or calories in your food will not determine your self-worth.

According to Sepel, healthy balanced living beats dieting.

Diets are not designed for long-term living. They cause low self-esteem and can create bad relationships with ourselves.

Jessica Sepel, nutitionist, blogger and author

She explains how important wholesome eating is, with the occasional indulgence.

Let's eat to feel good and let's give ourselves a break. Diets have given us a false perception about what healthy means.... We're giving food way to much emotional power.

Jessica Sepel, nutitionist, blogger and author
