The Constitutional Court Judges heavily criticised Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini and the South Africa Social Security Agency (Sassa) for not telling the court earlier that they were unable to take over the payment of social grants.
The court needs to make a ruling on whether Sassa may extend the existing contract or draft new one with Cash Paymaster Services (CPS).
Justice Mogoeng accused the minister and Sassa of not properly doing their job and labelling them incompetent.— Gia Nicolaides, EWN reporter
